Norwegian born artist, Ingerid Ekeland began displaying her jewelry at the Santa Barbara Beach Art Show in the early 1970s. In 1974, she partnered with another jewelry designer, Glenn Espig, to open Oliver and Espig.
Working in many types of metals, Ekeland designed her own award-winning line of jewelry and has also completed many commissioned pieces. Her specialties include anticlastic and synclastic raising, all manners of stone setting and creating fantastic one-of-a-kind pieces with wonderful gemstones.
“Perfection of form” has been Ekeland’s goal when designing jewelry. Fluid shapes and contemporary, graceful lines are trademarks of Ekeland’s work. Ekeland’s retirement makes her unique pieces collectible works of jewelry art.
